Maniumpathy

Solos
A former private residence converted into a boutique hotel, Maniumpathy has a fascinating family history and combines old-world charm with modern comforts.
The hotel itself is in a peaceful spot, while the neighbourhood has coffee shops, boutique shops and a few art galleries. The main sights of Colombo and central restaurants are only a short walk or tuk-tuk ride away.
Maniumpathy suits travellers seeking character-rich accommodation with a sense of history.
The building itself is over a century old and has been home to five generations of one family. It’s been lovingly restored to a high quality with just eight rooms set around an intimate courtyard. There are splashes of colonial glamour throughout the hotel such engraved window frames, four-poster beds, pillared terraces and lovely antiques throughout.
Guests can relax by the small pool in the centre of the property and try spa therapies in the treatment room. Casual dining can be taken at “The Nandi” terrace restaurant or fine dining in “The Grand Ebony Room”.
The Rooms
Each individual room is named in honour of a woman from each generation of the family.
Vintage-style furniture, pictures and rugs decorate each room and all offer smart en-suite bathrooms.
Ground floor suites either look out onto the courtyard or have small private gardens, and upper-level suites have balconies overlooking the pool. The one master suite has a separate lounge, and there is also a family suite offering two separate sleeping areas split between mezzanine levels.
