Why House, Talpe

Set slightly inland from Galle on the south coast of Sri Lanka, Why House is a beautiful small hotel. The boutique resort has an informal homely feel, luxury service, and superb facilities. It accommodates up to 24 guests, and Why House's eleven staff members will make you feel at home with their attentive assistance. Whether driving you to the beach, playing volleyball with your kids or bringing you a drink by the pool, the staff are exceptionally well trained and aim to make your stay perfect. With two cars and three tuk-tuks available, trips to diving and surfing spots, into Galle's famous fort or further afield are easy to organise

The property's beautifully manicured garden, swimming pool, and communal lounge areas offer lovely spots to unwind and relax for those wanting a relaxed stay. Massages can be arranged through the hotel as well. Guests have the choice to dine privately on their verandas, by the pool or around the communal table and enjoy meeting other travellers. The food is excellent.

There are eight double bedrooms, all decorated in a sophisticated yet understated style. Subtle white and black accents add elegance to the contemporary Sri Lankan décor throughout the hotel. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable, and some in the main House have a separate area with a third single bed for a child. They also offer a babysitting service, food for children and staff who are always enthusiastic about joining in a game, so it's an excellent option for families, too.
