Bandhavgarh National Park is best known for having the highest density of tigers in India, although it should also be noted for the beauty of its forests and diverse wildlife – leopard, sambar deer & barking deer can all be seen on a safari. The park also has a rich variety of birdlife and you are likely to spot beautiful species of Egrets, Hornbills, Kingfishers and Eagles that are endemic to the region.
Essentially though, Bandhavgarh is famous as one of the best places in India to see the Royal Bengal Tiger and it also has a population of White Tigers too. You won’t have the park to yourselves: it is a popular park and attracts a great deal of visitors. Safaris are taken on elephant back, which we don’t particularly encourage and more conventionally by jeep.
Who could resist the chance see the king of the Indian jungle in the flesh!
