With spectacular views of the surrounding mountains and valleys down into Tamil Nadu, a stay here rewards guests with an idyllic environment and breath-taking views. Stay in well-kept A-frame bungalows and wake up to the beautiful scenery around you, spending your days trekking, listening to the sounds of the forests and simply relaxing.
Located 2,100 m above sea level, the camp is only reachable on foot; it’s about an hour’s gentle walk uphill through a tea plantations and forests. It’s a truly peaceful environment, and if you wish to have it all to yourself, we can book out the whole property exclusively for you. If you’re up for the challenge, you can even embark on a hike up to Meesapulimalai, the second highest peak in South India.
The tepee-style bungalows are quite contemporary, with plenty of glass to let light in. You’ll have a comfortable bed, modern bathroom and outdoor seating area.
The camp is very isolated, which will be wonderful for some but off-putting to others. Also, if the weather isn’t ideal, there is very little to do as many activities here involve being outdoors. Having said this, we think Camp Footprint creates the conditions for a one-of-a-kind experience in one of India’s most scenic wilderness locations - great for those wanting adventure but also for those looking for a digital detox and to relax.
Eco/Adventure - This category covers gorgeous lodges in the jungle, comfortable safari camps and dreamy, but simple, beach cabanas. These places defy conventional categorisation: what is communing with nature to one person may be terrifying bugs to another! Many of these places are very comfortable and the service generally of a very high level - but please read the website review carefully and/or talk to us and be sure to have understood what you are letting yourselves in for!
