Essential Rajasthan with the Taj Mahal
The Taj Mahal combined with rural Rajasthan's impossibly romantic desert forts, dramatic scenery and incredible wildlife.
Rohetgarh is a well-known favourite on the heritage hotel scene, admired for its uniquely decorated rooms, opulent ambience, and friendly service. The hotel has been around for 25 years, developed from an ancestral residency established as far back as 1622 AD. The family has worked hard to restore all the old edifices, maintain the beautiful sprawling gardens, and respect the natural surroundings and wildlife. This means that peacocks roam around freely in the garden, and the nearby lake is a lovely place to bird-spot. Guests are also welcome to use the owner’s horses to explore the countryside.
The kitchen at Rohetgarh is a special treat, its chefs trained by the late Thakurani Sahiba herself, a well-known culinary expert and author. A cooking school is attached to the heritage hotel. When you’re not cooking, horse riding, swimming in the splendid swimming pool or visiting the authentic villages surrounding Jodhpur, you can relax on one of plenty of beautifully adorned terraces, verandahs, and lounges.
The rooms and suites themselves are all uniquely decorated with elegant frescoes and stylish traditional furnishings. There are 34 of them in total. Rohetgarh is elegant and spacious, and there are plenty of groups, so if you’re looking for a more intimate boutique experience, you might choose a slightly smaller property. But friendly service and beautiful surroundings make this hotel an attractive choice for groups, families, and couples.
Superior - This is what we would describe as our standard category. These will be decent 3/4* hotels providing a really good level of service. We would generally expect them to be providing a little something extra, in terms of character, guest experience or facilities too.
