Wilderness Camp, Rohet

Rohet Wilderness Camp is owned and operated by the hospitable Rohet family, conceptualised to offer guests the tented Thar desert experience without having to travel into the far northwest corner of Rajasthan. Rohet Wilderness Camp is a tented version of its sister properties, Rohet Garh and Mihir Garh. Expect fantastic service, a social atmosphere, and Indian flair.

The campsite is perched on a small sand dune that has the best views around for miles of the surrounding landscapes. The dining and lounge areas are constructed from thatch and dung plaster in the traditional Indian style with traditional seating. The stable onsite is where you can start your equestrian adventure with Marwari horses, and the village safari gives you the chance to visit rural Rajasthani homes and converse with the locals. Birdwatching tours and culinary workshops are also popular with visitors. It is only an hour from Jodhpur so you can cover both bases at the same time. 

This is not a glamping site: the seven tents are spacious and comfortable, but Rohet Wilderness Camp lacks the luxury touches such as air conditioning or an expansive sitting parlour. All the same, the vibe here is friendly and down to earth, and the warm hospitality offered by the Rohet family is unbeatable.
