Life on the East Coast has its own character. The daily lives of the people in Batticaloa and the surrounding villages are woven mainly around fishing due to the surrounding water bodies, the tank, the lagoon and the sea.
We invite you to experience the day from a local perspective: riding in a catamaran through the tank (village reservoir), visiting a nearby village, and seeing the villagers' daily lives. You will be welcomed into the home of a local family for a simple home-cooked meal. With a heavy stomach and the sun shining down on you, you might want to unwind a little before you rally on.
Before sunset, you can join the fisherman at the lagoon who will teach you the art of fishing. Try it out and let us know how many fish you caught!
