Aliya is a spacious and modern resort with views of Sigiriya Rock. It's an excellent value base for exploring the Cultural Triangle region of Sri Lanka.
The accommodation is a mixture of smart chalets and luxury tented rooms, with plenty of space and light. Furnishings in the rooms are comfortable and minimalist, with the occasional elephant-themed feature and splash of colour, making for a very functional and attractive space. The safari style luxury-tents are scattered throughout the resort under thatched huts, with good facilities and nice verandas for relaxing. All suites also have plunge pools, and some offer extra attic bedrooms that are ideal for families. An exciting way to feel closer to nature without compromising on comfort!
The hotel has a huge infinity pool that looks out over Sigiriya rock, perfect for cooling off and relaxing after a day exploring the cultural triangle. The grounds are extensive and well kept, making for an oasis of calm in the beautiful Sri Lankan wilderness. The three restaurants and coffee shop/bar all offer varied and nicely prepared cuisine, meaning there is plenty of choice for all tastes. The spa is in a lovely rural spot looking set amidst a collection of thatched mud-hut style buildings, offering a great range of treatments.
A lovely place to relax when exploring the Cultural Triangle, in an excellent scenic location with good facilities and one of the best swimming pools in the region.
