Stylish Sri Lanka by Seaplane
Experience original, luxury hotels combined with top-notch experiences. And a seaplane with incredible views.
There are few hotels in Sri Lanka that can rival the location of the beautiful, 2014-opened Cape Weligama. It is situated on the headland of Weligama Bay that juts out of the spectacular southern coast of Sri Lanka, only a 30-minute drive from historic Galle. If one were to stand at the tip of the cape, there would be nothing standing in your way between Sri Lanka and the south pole.
Cape Weligama has so much more to offer than its breath-taking panoramic ocean views (best enjoyed from the main crescent moon-shaped infinity pool). It is a fantastic luxury resort with very spacious, terracotta-roofed villas all named after famous Ceylon explorers. Bathrooms are clean, spacious and tastefully decorated and the room interiors boast light colours, wooden furnishings and comfortable beds and sofas. Earthy hues and crisp white linens are the lovely finishing touches to these villas, ranging in size from one-bedroom villa up to the two-storey Cape Weligama residences that are perfect for families. The villas are clustered in groups of 3 or 4 in spacious watts (gardens), each with their own infinity pool to share, meaning you can have privacy in your private pool or enjoy the stunning ocean views from the spectacular main pool. There is also access to a beach from the hotel and a fully equipped gym.
There is an emphasis on experience at this hotel, which starts with excellent customer service and private butlers in the villas. Furthermore, there are exciting activities and excursions to get involved including snorkelling, kayaking, diving, private cruises, fishing, seasonal whale and dolphin watching, cinnamon plantation trails, Galle fort walks and more, all executed with professionalism to allow guests to discover the authentic flavour of southern Sri Lanka.
This is a fantastic hotel on the beach in Sri Lanka and will be well suited to all; from families to honeymooners to sun worshippers and culture seekers of all ages, providing a lovely relaxing spot to soak up the sun, enjoy the ocean views and explore the beautiful southern coast of Sri Lanka.
Luxury - Luxury hotels would have a superb level of service, very comfortable and usually spacious bedrooms, excellent food, great design and character. For us, when we visited, these places all had the 'wow factor'. A luxury hotel should satisfy the criteria of the most discerning clients.
