Goatfell, Nuwara Eliya

Sitting high on a hill amongst tea bushes and looking out to lush, rolling hills, Goatfell is a luxurious and intimate renovated tea bungalow. Once home to an estate manager, the bungalows four bedrooms still retain its former charm. About a 25-minute drive from Nuwara Eliya in the Kandapola area, this spectacular plantation region is home to beautiful rolling hills, tea estates and forests.

Amongst the beautifully manicured gardens sits an infinity pool looking out over the hills below, with loungers and chairs to sit out on under the patio and next to the pool. It’s a lovely spot to enjoy your meals, afternoon tea or a drink in the evening. Your stay is all-inclusive, including every deliciously authentic meal, drink, and snack, as well as butler service. Staff are dedicated to providing a seamless and personalised experience for guests, making you feel at home during your stay.

With one twin room and three double rooms available, all open out onto terraces where you can sit out amongst the gardens and relax. They are spread out through the main house and in two stand-alone chalets, with a range of antique and modern furnishings and an elegant style. Bathrooms are large, all with bathtubs, while there are other added luxuries like walk-in wardrobes, comfortable armchairs and four-poster king-size beds. One of the double rooms also connects with the twin to make a Family Suite, though if you’re travelling with a larger group, the whole property can be booked exclusively for groups of to 8 adults and 2 children.

In all, Goatfell is a lovely option for those who prefer a smaller, more intimate and all-inclusive stay with detailed service. If you prefer a greater range of facilities, this may not be the place for you.
