A luxurious 5-room private villa in Thalpe just along the coast from Galle, the spacious, bright and modern Ishq Villa is fantastic for families or small groups. With an open design, the villa makes use of the fresh sea breezes and gardens are spacious, spanning the width of the adjoining sea. It comprises four rooms and your stay includes 12 staff, including a butler, chef and housekeeping to ensure your stay is comfortable.
The lovely pool is the centrepiece of the villa, and the beach is just outside, it should be noted however that the sea can be rough for swimming, though the swimmable Dalawella Beach and Wijaya Beach club are only a 2 minute tuk tuk ride away. Dining is poolside, with a table big enough for 12 and the superb chef cooks up whatever you desire from a range of delicious Sri Lankan and western dishes. You can book your stay on a breakfast or full board basis, though the food is so fantastic that we recommend going for the full board.
The butler can take you out on bike rides around the surrounding countryside or perhaps visit Galle Fort in the afternoon. You can while away your time relaxing on a sun lounger around the grassy lawn, and yoga and fitness instructors, as well as spa therapists, can be booked if you wish to treat yourself further.
Rooms have a contemporary beachy feel, fitting seamlessly into the ocean-side setting. They feature king-sized beds, private garden patios and beautiful bathrooms with double indoor and outdoor rainwater showers. In the master suite, you’ll even be treated to a jacuzzi and views across the garden and out to the ocean.
For a relaxing, private and luxurious villa stay on Sri Lanka’s south coast, Ishq Villa is an excellent option. Families with small children should be aware that the pool area is very open.
Villa - The 'Villa' is a similar concept to the 'holiday home' in Europe, with some key differences. Our villas in Asia are always fully staffed with cooking and service provided for you. Staff will generally cook meals to your specification and purchase food and drink for you at cost price. They are generally pretty smart and luxurious too and feel in many ways like a small private hotel. Nonetheless, your villa is still effectively a home and therefore you cannot expect the same level of training, English speaking or slickness that you might expect from a hotel at a similar cost. As the owners are not generally holiday professionals we cannot guarantee the quality of a villa matches expectations in a way we can with hotels. That said, the personal local touch means villas are generally much more friendly and interactive than hotels and have much to recommend them. The privacy and space makes them wonderful for families, groups of friends or couples looking for privacy and relaxation.
