Yala National Park is a wildlife spotter’s dream. Most visitors come to see the wily leopard or the sloth bear. Leopard Trails bespoke tented camp lets you immerse yourself in the jungle, complete with delicious cuisine and friendly guides.
In the scenic Yala National Park, it’s not all about the leopard. You can also look forward to crossing paths with a tusked elephant, a mugger crocodile, or a variety of colourful butterflies and birds. Sampling fantastic Sri Lankan cuisine under the stars is also a real highlight. Leopard Trails supports responsible tourism, which means they collaborate with traders from the local community and reduce their impact on the environment as much as possible.
There are Classic Mobile Tents and Luxury Tents on offer. The former describes those with air conditioning, fans, queen size beds, flushable toilets and outdoor ensuite showers with hot and cold water. The Luxury Tents have all the facilities of the Classic tents, but the showers are inside, and the bathroom area is larger.
We would recommend Leopard Trails camping experiences for travellers who love the outdoors and are keen to get right into the thick of it. Anyone with an adventurous spirit will get an invigorating jungle experience.
Eco/Adventure - This category covers gorgeous lodges in the jungle, comfortable safari camps and dreamy, but simple, beach cabanas. These places defy conventional categorisation: what is communing with nature to one person may be terrifying bugs to another! Many of these places are very comfortable and the service generally of a very high level - but please read the website review carefully and/or talk to us and be sure to have understood what you are letting yourselves in for!
