Set in the hills just outside of Kandy on a former tea estate lies the Santani Resort & Spa. The property focuses heavily on health, wellness and rejuvenation, and acts as a haven for those wanting to disconnect, recharge and leave worries of the outside world behind.
The design is modern and minimalist yet in harmony with the natural environment and blissful surrounds. Perhaps you’ll want to begin your morning with a sunrise yoga session accompanied by the sounds of bird calls. The infinity pool facing out over the rolling green hills is extremely inviting, or you may choose to take a hike through the surrounding tea fields.
The Santani aims to seek out the latest innovations in regards to health science and provides guests with effective and high-quality spa and wellness treatments. Fitting in with this theme, the hotel chef provides nourishing, well-balanced and personalised meals designed for each individual depending on their health needs and goals.
Rooms keep within the contemporary theme, while you’ll find they are minimalistic, and for a good reason. They have aimed to provide guests with little distractions. You won’t find a TV in the room. However, there is Wi-Fi. With large expanses of glass, space gives an indoor-outdoor feel; you’ll be waking up, dining, relaxing and falling asleep surrounded by nature and breath-taking views.
While we don’t recommend the Santani for families, it is ideal for couples and individuals who are interested in health, wellness and the idea of recharging their batteries.
Luxury - Luxury hotels would have a superb level of service, very comfortable and usually spacious bedrooms, excellent food, great design and character. For us, when we visited, these places all had the 'wow factor'. A luxury hotel should satisfy the criteria of the most discerning clients.
