South Point Villa opens directly onto an unspoilt sandy cove. A reef a little way out to sea offers safe swimming throughout the year, and the stilt fishermen cast their nets from perches just metres off the shoreline.
In short, this is a wonderful setting for an idyllic beachside holiday. The three bedrooms themselves are extremely spacious with beautiful en-suite bathrooms and a teak wood finish. The centre of the villa is open plan with a lovely round dining table and a glass frontage opening out to the patio, garden and sea beyond.
The staff are friendly and create an intimate feel having been with the Sri Lankan owners of this villa for a long time now. The owner is confident of recommending to them for children as he has entrusted his own children to their care over the years! The villa can sleep up to 6 adults and four children comfortably, and the staff will oversee children swimming in the pool all day if necessary. The villa is not too sculpted to make one feel trepidation with the children running around, but the comfort level and style of the design is luxurious enough to keep the most fastidious adult happy.
Great for groups of friends, one or more families or even a couple that wants complete privacy and wonderful food, Southpoint Villa is one of the most attractive and unpretentious beach villas on the glorious south coast.
Highly recommended.
Villa - The 'Villa' is a similar concept to the 'holiday home' in Europe, with some key differences. Our villas in Asia are always fully staffed with cooking and service provided for you. Staff will generally cook meals to your specification and purchase food and drink for you at cost price. They are generally pretty smart and luxurious too and feel in many ways like a small private hotel. Nonetheless, your villa is still effectively a home and therefore you cannot expect the same level of training, English speaking or slickness that you might expect from a hotel at a similar cost. As the owners are not generally holiday professionals we cannot guarantee the quality of a villa matches expectations in a way we can with hotels. That said, the personal local touch means villas are generally much more friendly and interactive than hotels and have much to recommend them. The privacy and space makes them wonderful for families, groups of friends or couples looking for privacy and relaxation.
