With the vast array of water sports, outdoor activities and excursions, as well as a stretch of 3 mile white sandy beach this island is a great choice for families. Found in the Lhaviyani Atoll this island is about a 40 minute sea plane journey from Male International Airport.

Snorkelling, fishing and boat excursions can also be arranged. Palm Beach Resort is very children friendly, so parents can unwind in the tropical sunshine whilst their children explore the kid’s play area and special children’s pool. Babysitting facilities are also available. Palm Beach is great for both experienced and inexperienced divers, with a PADI Dive Centre offering up to 3 dives per day .
Palm Beach Resort has a total of 7 different room categories, including one specifically created for divers called the Diving Club Room found next to the PADI Dive Centre. Rooms are bright and airy, decorated in hues of cream and accents of dark stained wood. Villas offer a great value option for families; with two rooms spread over two floors- the lower floor lounge area can easily take two extra beds.
We would say this resort is a great option for families looking for both entertainment and relaxation all at a reasonable price tag.
Superior - This is what we would describe as our standard category. These will be decent 3/4* hotels providing a really good level of service. We would generally expect them to be providing a little something extra, in terms of character, guest experience or facilities too.
Well, what can I say! It was awesome! We had the best time and fell in love with Sri Lanka! The Maldives were also lovely but we both felt 5 days was enough even with the diving!
