This modern, Thai-owned hotel is centrally located in Thimphu, just an hour from Paro airport and a short drive to Thimphu’s main attractions, with the clock tower square being just a five-minute walk away.
With 83 rooms it's large by Bhutan's standards and with size comes a wider than usual array of facilities. There's a fitness centre, spa, lounge and even a karaoke bar. As for dining, the Soi 8 Restaurant uses locally sourced, organic produce to offer lovely local and international cuisine, including authentic Thai dishes.
Rooms are quite contemporary and comfortable, with views out to the city. The Premier rooms offer a little more space than the lead-in categories, while the D’Chorten Suite on the top floor has a lovely living area and two bedrooms, making it ideal for families or groups.
We recommend DusitD2 if you're looking for a mid-range, modern hotel with plenty to offer and a convenient base for your exploration of Thimphu.
Superior - This is what we would describe as our standard category. These will be decent 3/4* hotels providing a really good level of service. We would generally expect them to be providing a little something extra, in terms of character, guest experience or facilities too.
