Yangkhil sits on a terraced hill with stunning panoramic views over Trongsa town, Dzongs, Mangde river and soaring mountain peaks. It is within walking distance to Trongsa town and offers a great location and relaxed atmosphere.
The property is faithful to the traditional Bhutanese style, with whitewashed walls, wooden beams, paintings, and prayer flags fluttering in the air. The restaurant serves Bhutanese, Indian and Continental food in a buffet style with a casual outdoor setting.
Rooms are quite basic, with wooden flooring and furnishings, no TV, limited Wifi and a simple bathroom and amenities. Despite this, they are well-kept and the views from the balconies stretching out over the mountain range are extremely picturesque, making for a lovely place to relax and absorb your surroundings.
For those wanting to split the journey between the west and east of Bhutan, this property is the best option in Trongsa town for a pitstop.
Comfort - This is our lead in category. There will generally be a no frills approach and while some will be characterful, some will do exactly what it says on the tin - provide a clean, comfortable and good value place to spend the night. These places are normally 3* hotels.
