Eastern and Oriental Express Train, Singapore

Embark on a journey of opulence and discovery aboard the Eastern and Oriental Express Train. There are two routes available, each covering 4 days with 3 nights accommodation on board the train. From November through to April, the Essence of Malaysia itinerary unveils west coast Malaysia's beauty, inviting exploration of Penang and Langkawi. The Wild Malaysia itinerary featuring Taman Negara comes to life from May to October.

Both journeys depart from Singapore and explore the lush scenery of Malaysia whilst travelling and sleeping in style. As you snake through the jungle, you’ll indulge in exquisite gastronomy in the dining cars, with their elm panels, light wood inlays, rosewood, and hand-painted lacquered panels. For breathtaking views, unwind in the Observation Car at the train’s rear, offering a grandeur reminiscent of a bygone era. After dinner, head to the piano bar for a nightcap

The Essence of Malaysia route includes exploration of the vibrant allure of Penang Island. Immerse yourself in the culinary art of Peranakan cooking, discover cultural wonders in Georgetown Old Quarter, or independently navigate the picturesque streets. In Langkawi, explore the Pulau Payar Marine Park. This pristine haven teems with vibrant underwater life, offering massage, paddleboarding, and snorkelling activities.

Wild Malaysia also covers Penang, but instead of Langkawi, the train takes you east to explore Taman Negara National Park, one of the world’s oldest rainforests, engaging in jungle ingredient discovery, photography courses, and wildlife excursions supporting tiger conservation. Conservation is at the heart of the Eastern & Oriental Express, partnering with Save Wild Tigers to connect travellers with local villagers dedicated to preserving these majestic creatures.
