This hotel is a long-established property flanked by lakes, temples and wildlife sanctuaries in Tissamaharama.The 26 bright rooms have en-suite bathrooms and balconies overlooking the paddy fields behind the hotel.
The restaurant serves up a mix of Sri Lankan and western food and an informal bar serves reasonably priced cocktails. The swimming pool is is a great new addition.
The hotel is well located for exploring the National Parks of Yala, Bundala and Uda Walalwe. The sacred city of Kataragama, with it's world-famous festivals and rituals, is just fifteen minutes drive away.
This is a great mid-range option, ideal for exploring the deep south-east or for breaking a long journey from the hills to the south coast.

Comfort - This is our lead in category. There will generally be a no frills approach and while some will be characterful, some will do exactly what it says on the tin - provide a clean, comfortable and good value place to spend the night. These places are normally 3* hotels.
Most of them were superb and we had requested quiet rooms with sea/lake views where possible. Harriet had arranged this for us and her hard work paid of as they were all granted.
