Opened in late 2007, the modern Tara Angkor is a quality four star hotel ideally located for exploring the temples of the ancient kingdom of Angkor.
Comprising 213 rooms and suites the property is functional, comfortable and excellent value for money. Rooms are divided into two main categories - Deluxe and Superior whilst there are also a variety of suites. All the rooms and suites are decorated in a sharp, modern Khmer style with all the usual amenities you would expect from a hotel of this size and quality.
The hotel has a good range of facilities for. A swimming pool is particularly important in Siem Reap and the Tara Angkor's 115 square metre pool & jacuzzi is great to cool off in after a day marvelling at the temples. The hotel also has a modern gym, free bicycle hire, wireless internet and a babysitting service. The staff are great and really go out of their way to look after guests.
There are three dining options within the hotel. The Tong Tara Restaurant is the all day dining venue, colourfully decorated there are indoor and outdoor terrace seating options. The cuisine is a mix of Khmer, Thai and international flavours. The Tara Lobby Lounge is a laid back environment in which to enjoy a wide range of cocktails and light snacks. The Pool Bar is a more informal setting and serves food and drinks throughout the day.
The hotel is located on the outskirts of Angkor en-route to the temple complex entrance, a short tuk-tuk ride from the centre of town.
Comfort - This is our lead in category. There will generally be a no frills approach and while some will be characterful, some will do exactly what it says on the tin - provide a clean, comfortable and good value place to spend the night. These places are normally 3* hotels.
