Today you will walk through Shimla's Architectural Heritage Zone, taking in various architectural sites from the British era. Begin at the Christ Church, located on the western shoulder of Jakhu Hill - the highest hill in Shimla. You will see a number of old colonial buildings, most of which are still in use to this day and all of which have striking design features that are unique and add to Shimla's charm. Your guide will introduce each building to you, giving an account of their individual history, designers and notable occupants. We can arrange for this walk to be guided by the historian regarded as the leading authority on the colonial era and its influence on Shimla.

The one-on-one guide arranged with Experience Travel Group enabled me to get so much more from my trip to India. As well as the almost compulsory visits to the Taj Mahal and Red Fort, I was shown a variety of busy towns and mall villages, traditional crafts and skills, religious buildings and practices, architecture and wildlife, finishing with a very relaxing stay in Tikli Bottom.
