Surrounded by the hills of Udaipur, this small colonial-era-inspired hotel provides an intimate oasis of calm and tranquility. Although just a 20-minute drive from popular tourist spots, the location feels a million miles away from the hustle and bustle of city life.
The striking surrounding landscape is accessible via the range of experiences the hotel offers, including treks and hikes to suit any fitness level. Take an early morning walk into the hills, and you’ll be rewarded with breakfast at sunrise with a stunning panoramic view of Badi Lake. If that sounds a little too energetic, there are bird-watching opportunities and the nearby Sajjangarh Wildlife Park, where you might catch a glimpse of a leopard or panther.
Premkunj has just eight rooms split across two levels, with the ground-floor rooms opening up onto the swimming pool area while the first-floor rooms feature open terraces with panoramic views of the surrounding hillsides. Each room is unique in décor and design and with strong colonial influences throughout, despite being a relatively recently built hotel.
Given the quiet setting and peaceful ambience, we’d suggest it’s not the ideal choice for younger children. However, for couples or families with older kids, Premkunj offers a relaxing experience with plenty of nature-based activities.
Superior - This is what we would describe as our standard category. These will be decent 3/4* hotels providing a really good level of service. We would generally expect them to be providing a little something extra, in terms of character, guest experience or facilities too.
