The luxurious Sanctuary Ananda boat has been custom built for the purpose of exploring this beautiful region and covers the temples and pagodas of the Irrawaddy between Bagan and Mandalay in style. Itineraries between Bagan and Mandalay cover 4 days and the reverse itinerary covers 5 days. Different stops are made in each direction so it is possible to combine the two cruises over 8 days into a full loop.
Whilst on board guests are spoiled by the fine restaurants, a sumptuous spa and even an outdoor plunge pool. There are also opportunities to learn about the fascinating country and its customs with optional lectures from a local guide as well as cooking lessons and dance performances. As one would expect, there are a variety of land excursions taking in the rural highlights.
There are 20 stylish and spacious suites on board, with modern features such as iPod docks and iPad connections. For an extra treat the Luxury Suites include butler service, complimentary laundry and complimentary mini bar.

Luxury - Luxury hotels would have a superb level of service, very comfortable and usually spacious bedrooms, excellent food, great design and character. For us, when we visited, these places all had the 'wow factor'. A luxury hotel should satisfy the criteria of the most discerning clients.
