Mandalay, the second-largest city in Myanmar, is somewhat more provincial and traditional than Yangon and has more the feel of a typical Asian city - buzzing with life and noise. There's a lot to take in, from temples and shopping to a trip up the Ayeyarwady River to see the ancient temple complexes. There's also great shopping with Burmese antiques, silk, jewellery, gems, lacquer wear and time to experience treats such as Burmese pickled tea! We allow time here for you to really get to know the city and experience its history, culture and food in the least touristy way possible!
