Bagan Steam Train,
Info : Bagan Steam Train
Board this beautiful old steam train for an unforgettable journey. Your first stop is at a traditional Burmese village, Taung Zi, where you’ll have the chance to wander through the streets and grab a bite. The journey then continues onwards to Kyauk Pan Taung and Mount Popa Resort.
Popa Mountain Resort overlooks Taung Kalat, well-placed to take advantage of cool breezes and to escape from the heat of city life below. The beautiful gardens and lush jungle surrounding the resort offer fantastic opportunities for bird and butterfly spotting. Take the time to enjoy a relaxed lunch, explore the resort and just take in the spectacular scenery before making the return trip back to Bagan.
My favourite [guide] was Aung in Mandalay. We only had him for one day, but he was determined to show us as much of Mandalay as possible in the time allotted, was obviously very proud of his city and country and was a pleasure to be with. He even took us to meet his uncle who was the Abbott of one of the many monasteries.
