Info : Trekking and Birdwatching
Just a few hours west of beautiful Bagan in Myanmar’s remote Chin State lies Nat Ma Taung National Park and its grandest peak, Mt. Victoria. A guided overnight tour will show you the very best of Mt. Victoria’s lush green jungle, rich with flora and fauna species. Beginning with an adventurous jeep ride, you’ll arrive at your “base camp” in Mindat or Kanpetlet. From here, the trek to the peak is short and eye-opening. For bird enthusiasts, Mt. Victoria is an absolute highlight, and your guide will point out several of the many rare and endemic bird and butterfly species as you trek through the forest. Camp at the top of Mt. Victoria or return to one of the villages for more comfortable accommodation.
Our guides in Yangon, Bagan, and Kalaw / Lake Inle were wonderful. They struck the right balance of explaining the history and importance of the sights we were seeing without over-doing it, they knew where to get the best view/experience at what time and could rearrange experiences so we got the most out of them.
