The Bagan Thande Hotel is set in a beautiful riverside location and offers a relaxed, welcoming environment with great facilities to enjoy the spectacular temples of Bagan.
With 71 bungalows and rooms, the Bagan Thande Hotel is markedly smaller than most of its local competition and all the better for it. The staff maintains a personal feel and the overall atmosphere of the resort is friendly and laid back.
The Superior rooms in the main building offer simple yet comfortable accommodation within the resort’s leafy and shady gardens. Deluxe Rooms on the riverfront are something quite special, with large private balconies, warm interiors and superb bathrooms with separate baths and showers. Suites are larger and suitable for families, although extra beds can also be added to other room types. Overall the rooms are spacious and well appointed, representing very good value for money, plus the resort’s location couldn’t really be better.
A small swimming pool is located in a cool garden setting offering a welcome place to laze and unwind after exploring the temples. The hotel’s main restaurant has a beautiful outdoor setting with great river views, particularly lovely at breakfast and sunset. Intriguingly, the hotel’s main building is one of Bagan’s few remaining colonial structures and was originally built in 1922 for the then Prince of Wales and future King of England, Edward.
The Bagan Thande Hotel is one of our preferred options in its price range, representing good value for money for the excellent accommodation, atmosphere, and location.
Deluxe - This is our first really 'upmarket' category. It might be a beautiful tiny hotel with very limited facilities or a 5* resort hotel with all the trimmings; but any hotel in this category will be a well-run establishment with very comfortable rooms, a strong service ethos and excellent food.
