Myanmar Andaman Resort ,
Myanmar, The Mergui Archipelago
Info : Myanmar Andaman Resort
Macleod Island remains unspoilt, secluded and breathtaking, though we’re sure the rest of the world will find out about it soon enough. Myanmar Andaman Resort is one of two private retreats operating in this area, and from the moment you get off the speedboat and kick your shoes off, you’ll feel like it’s your own private island. It practically is. Expect brand new, modern and lovely facilities in tropical surroundings.
The Mergui Archipelago consists of more than 800 uninhabited islands scattered in the Andaman Sea between Myeik and Kawthaung. This is the destination in Myanmar for diving, snorkelling, fishing, sea kayaking, jungle trekking and sun soaking. Put simply, it’s paradise. Catch a rare glimpse of the nomadic Sea Gypsies, take a once-in-a-lifetime dive at the resort’s PADI dive centre or spot some rare bird species on a guided jungle trek. At the resort, indulge in a traditional spa or massage treatment, grab a sundowner at the bar or dine at the restaurant.
There are 14 superior cottages measuring in at 26m2, as well as eight 40m2 suite chalets, all of which are air-conditioned and right on the beachfront. All rooms are bright, open and airy with private balconies and gorgeous furnishings. It’s pricy here, but all packages include breakfast, dinner and a full-day snorkelling tour on Macleod Island.
The gorgeous location alone is worth the trip here, and the hotel makes it a little easier by co-ordinating airport pickup or private speedboat arrival. Come here for spectacular water sports and absolute seclusion, and stay as long as you can.
Comfort - This is our lead in category. There will generally be a no frills approach and while some will be characterful, some will do exactly what it says on the tin - provide a clean, comfortable and good value place to spend the night. These places are normally 3* hotels.

Here are some popular holidays including this hotel or we can create a tailor made holiday, crafted for you.
We enjoyed a 3 week trip exploring both the well known places as well as the less developed areas. We also balanced the trip with a variety of walks and activities as well as time for several half day breaks to relax. The Myanmar people are incredibly friendly and welcoming. The colours of the country are outstanding, wonderful dusty landscapes with rice fields and palm trees as well as so many amazing pagodas rich in colour and symbolism. Our best parts were the less well known places but Lake Inle and Bagan are must do places and are still not overrun by tourists. Experience Travel Group tailored a trip for our needs and knew how to do so and suggest appropriate hotels and means of travel.
