The hotel has relaxed and welcoming atmosphere and the gardens are remarkably tranquil – a peaceful way to start and end the day. The facilities are generally excellent and all your needs should be well taken care of. Overall the Tharabar Gate Hotel offers a more stylish and intimate alternative to Bagan’s other luxury hotels and comes highly recommended.

Deluxe - This is our first really 'upmarket' category. It might be a beautiful tiny hotel with very limited facilities or a 5* resort hotel with all the trimmings; but any hotel in this category will be a well-run establishment with very comfortable rooms, a strong service ethos and excellent food.

Customer Feedback
Our guides in Yangon, Bagan, and Kalaw / Lake Inle were wonderful. They struck the right balance of explaining the history and importance of the sights we were seeing without over-doing it, they knew where to get the best view/experience at what time and could rearrange experiences so we got the most out of them. A standout was our guide in Kalaw / trek / Lake Inle. He was as keen to learn from us as he was to teach us, he bent over backwards to make sure we were happy and comfortable, and he was just plain fun too!
