The Mandalay Hill Resort is arguably the city’s premier luxury resort. Situated in a picturesque location between the former royal palace and the iconic Mandalay hill, this sprawling resort offers fantastic panoramic views, luxurious accommodation and pretty much every facility you could expect from a hotel.
There are a total of 206 rooms, split into six different categories. All have private balconies, satellite tv, en-suite bathrooms and a range of Asian-inspired design. Views are either of the hills or the city, with its iconic pagoda stupas. The entry-level Superior Rooms offer excellent value for the facilities on offer, while the opulent Suites will burn a small hole your pocket but offer truly grand and sophisticated accommodation.
The hotel’s facilities are almost too numerous list. Worthy of the note are the large swimming pool, tennis courts, gym, lavish spa, nightclub, three fine-dining restaurants and outdoor dining terrace.
The Mandalay Hill Resort will appeal to many kinds of travellers, from those seeking extensive facilities to those wishing to experience Mandalay in a bit of luxury and style. For its large size and international standards, the hotel is relatively informal and maintains a surprising level of character and atmosphere.
Deluxe - This is our first really 'upmarket' category. It might be a beautiful tiny hotel with very limited facilities or a 5* resort hotel with all the trimmings; but any hotel in this category will be a well-run establishment with very comfortable rooms, a strong service ethos and excellent food.
