DAY 1   DEPART THE UK

Depart the UK on your overnight flight to Mandalay.

DAY 2 - 4   MANDALAY   cultural adventures

Your private guide will meet you on arrival for the transfer to your hotel. The remainder of the day is free to relax, enjoy your hotel and settle into Myanmar time.  You’ll then spend two days exploring ancient capitals, colourful markets, Buddhist heritage, intricate carvings and sunrise at the famous U Bein Bridge, taking advantage of various modes of transport as you travel around with your guide.

DAY 5 & 6   Three Day River Cruise from Mandalay to Bagan

You’ll spend three days aboard the Pandaw Cruise boat travelling along the Irrawaddy River from Mandalay towards Bagan. This is a fantastic way to take in the scenery at a leisurely pace with comfortable accommodation, great dining and expert guiding. En route, you’ll pass Yandabo Village, famous for its pottery and the traditional country town Pakokku where you’ll take an evening trishaw ride.

DAYs 7& 8 Bagan  MAGICAL pagodas and glorious SUNSETS

 Your boat arrives in Bagan early morning, and your local guide will meet you to begin exploring the extraordinary sights in signature Experience Travel Group style. Your tour of the archaeological zone will be timed to ensure you enjoy sunsets and other quiet moments away from the crowds.

DAY 9-11 LAKE INLE   Life on the lake

It’s a short flight from Bagan to Heho where your private guide will meet you, and you’ll transfer to Inle Lake. En route, you’ll pass paddy fields and streams, and there will be an option to stop and explore caves. When you reach the lake, you will board a private boat for the journey to your hotel. Towards the end of the day, you have the option of a fascinating sunset canoe trip on the lake.

You’ll spend two days exploring Inle Lake including a private boat tour of the floating gardens and farms that move around on the water surface. You’ll see the local fisherman rowing in their one-leg style and perhaps taste some local wine. If you didn’t get a chance to do so at Bagan, Inle is another location where you may like to treat yourself to a Hot Air Balloon Ride for aerial views of the lake.

DAYS 12 -15  NGAPALI BEACH   Tranquillity and The Indian Ocean

You’ll depart Heho for the direct flight to Thandwe – the gateway for Ngapali Beach. Here your guide will meet you for the transfer to your beach hotel. You’ll spend four days enjoying beach-life.

DAY 16&17 YANGON   EXPLORE THE CITY in a unique way

 It’s a short flight back to Yangon, the final stop on your Myanmar adventure.

Here, with your guide you’ll have time to enjoy the colonial architecture, take a rickshaw ride to a local market and visit the famous Shwedagon Pagoda, whose recognisable golden stupa dominates the city's skyline.

A morning trip on the circle train is an excellent opportunity to observe a little of day-to-day city life before your final evening in Myanmar.

DAY 18 FLY HOME

 Today you depart Myanmar for your flight back to the UK.
