Abode Hibernation, Mannar Sri Lanka, Puttalam & The North West
Abode Hibernation is a new experimental home-stay tourism project on the remote island of Mannar. Once a major commercial hub due it's proximity to Adam's Bridge and southern India, the area was in a state of decline following almost 30 years of civil conflict.
It's simple and basic, but comfortable enough and the warm welcome and the insight garnered from your brief immersion into the village community is a tremendous opportunity.
The project has been developed by Sidantha, the founder of Abode. the very successful project in the Knuckles Mountain Range.
Eco/Adventure - This category covers gorgeous lodges in the jungle, comfortable safari camps and dreamy, but simple, beach cabanas. These places defy conventional categorisation: what is communing with nature to one person may be terrifying bugs to another! Many of these places are very comfortable and the service generally of a very high level - but please read the website review carefully and/or talk to us and be sure to have understood what you are letting yourselves in for!
We did want to say to you how much we appreciated your efforts on our behalf and how very accurate you were in assesssing the sort of accommodation we would like. Each place was fun in a different sort of way and the contrasts made it even more exciting.
