Opened in 2023, Kayaam House is situated on the Southern coast of Sri Lanka near Tangalle. The property is managed by Resplendent Ceylon who are renowned for their other Sri Lankan properties such as the wonderful Ceylon Tea Trails and Cape Weligama.
Kayam House has 10 rooms including six ocean rooms, two palm suites and a two-bedroom palm residence. All rooms are sizeable, modern yet have local influences and are ideal spaces in which to unwind. Suites feature additional space including a larger terrace and Jacuzzi – ideal for enjoying a drink whilst watching the amazing sunsets.
The resort has an excellent infinity pool and access to tranquil beaches, which are great for surfing and turtle-watching. On-site you could take an outdoor yoga class or head to the Sama spa where one massage per day is included.
Overall, Kayaam House is the perfect retreat for downtime in the deep south. The serene and calming atmosphere is ideal for kicking back and relaxing after a tour exploring the country. Although, we suggest this may not be the best resort for younger children, as it's designed to be laid-back and serene.
Deluxe - This is our first really 'upmarket' category. It might be a beautiful tiny hotel with very limited facilities or a 5* resort hotel with all the trimmings; but any hotel in this category will be a well-run establishment with very comfortable rooms, a strong service ethos and excellent food.
