Inspired by the iconic Edward Lear poem The Owl and the Pussycat, leading property developers Reita Gadkari and Shane Thantirimudlige have created a luxurious and welcoming boutique hotel on Sri Lanka's south coast.
In keeping with the poem's themes of friendship and adventure, there are plenty of fun experiences to be had with your travelling companion(s) during your stay. From discovering UNESCO heritage Galle to visiting turtle hatcheries, to just sunbathing on the nearby idyllic beaches – you can relax in however manner you like.
The property boasts 16 spacious rooms with beautiful views across the ocean. Decorated throughout with colourful pastels and filled with artwork, there is a real sophistication to this seaside escape. The restaurant serves delicious dishes from locally sourced ingredients.
The idiosyncratic aspect of the design might not be to everyone's taste, and it may not suit those who like to stroll out and wander through local streets from their accommodation. However, for those who like an intimate and characterful escape, this is certainly a very comfortable one.
Superior - This is what we would describe as our standard category. These will be decent 3/4* hotels providing a really good level of service. We would generally expect them to be providing a little something extra, in terms of character, guest experience or facilities too.
