Info : Wild Trails
Wild Trails is set in the 'buffer' zone around Yala National Park. It's a good option for an outdoors experience close to the park. Attentive staff, great facilities considering that it's a camp, and the right balance of privacy and service make this safari experience memorable for families, groups, and couples alike.
Visitors come to Yala National Park for a jungle adventure, to get up close and personal with leopards, elephants, buffalo, monkeys, crocodiles, and sloth bears in their natural habitat. Safari experts will guide you through exotic jungle, along scrub plains, over freshwater lakes and along beautiful beaches. Experience the unique pilgrim sites at Magul Vihara and Sithulpahuwa. At Wild Trails Yala, you can sit back in solitude under the stars at the end of an action-packed day, but still enjoy running water and a comfortable bed.
Four very clean and spacious tents contain large beds, eco-friendly materials, and piped water for showering and flushing. The tents are far apart enough to offer seclusion in the park’s buffer zone, making it a good choice for privacy and jungle immersion. For a romantic touch, meals are served with lanterns and candles all around.
We rate Wild Trails Yala as a great glamping choice: as a fixed camp, it's not as remote or wild as some of the luxury camping safari options but the great park location and the excellent set up works well as a good value option. There are more luxurious ways to experience Yala National Park, of course, so travellers who need creature comforts may prefer a traditional hotel.
Eco/Adventure - This category covers gorgeous lodges in the jungle, comfortable safari camps and dreamy, but simple, beach cabanas. These places defy conventional categorisation: what is communing with nature to one person may be terrifying bugs to another! Many of these places are very comfortable and the service generally of a very high level - but please read the website review carefully and/or talk to us and be sure to have understood what you are letting yourselves in for!

We called Harriet in the UK and asked to move to a hotel with more facilities or closer to town. Our request was relayed through Colombo to the manager and resulted in a visit from the owner asking how he could make our stay better.
