LUXURY CRICKET IN SRI LANKA

DAY 1: DEPART UK

Depart the UK on your overnight flight to Colombo.

DAY 2: TRANSFER TO COLOMBO

Upon arrival, your chauffeur-guide will transport you to your hotel in Colombo where you will be for a two-night stay. 

DAY 3: COLOMBO CITY WALK

Enjoy an informative walking tour of the Sri Lankan capital with a local guide to will open up the cultural heart of the city to you. This unique excursion will provide you with a real insight into the influences, traditions and cultures that have shaped and formed the Sri Lankan capital over the intervening centuries.

DAY 4: TRANSFER TO GALLE

You will be transferred to your hotel in Galle this morning after a two-and-a-half-hour drive where you will be for six nights. In the evening, the ETG team will be hosting drinks at a local hotel to welcome guests to Galle. They will be on hand to chat about Sri Lanka and all things cricket, as well as offering support and advice.

DAYS 5, 6, 7, 8 & 9: ENGLAND VS SRI LANKA – GALLE TEST MATCH

Over the next five days, you will enjoy watching England take on Sri Lanka at Galle Stadium for the full test match. Your tickets are included for each day, as well as lunch outside the grounds.

In the evening of day three, the ETG team will be hosting drinks and canapes at a local hotel where guests are welcome to join to catch up with the team and other visitors.

DAY 10: TRANSFER TO HATTON

Journey into ‘Hill Country’ this morning for a two-night stay in Hatton. This picturesque region is covered in tea plantations and forests clinging to hillsides, with magnificent views across the Southern Hills.

DAY 11: TEA TRAILS

Today you may want to hike to the summit of Adam’s Peak, raft down the white waters of the Kelani River, or enjoy a relaxing bike ride through the beautiful landscapes of Sri Lanka’s hill country. The choice is very much yours. We recommend highly recommend the complimentary tea factory visit, which is a great opportunity to learn more about the country’s most iconic and refreshing export.

DAY 12: TRAIN FROM HATTON TO KANDY

Your guide will drop you at the station this morning where you will board a train to journey through the hill country to Kandy. You can relax and take in the stunning scenery, an unhurried charm of the region and gain an insight into local life. This afternoon, you will explore one of the world’s most important Buddhist shrines, the Temple of the Tooth. This shrine is believed to hold a tooth belonging to Buddha and lies at the heart of a complex of temples and museums.

DAY 13: ENGLAND VS SRI LANKA – KANDY TEST MATCH

Today you will watch England vs Sri Lanka at the Kandy Test Match. Tickets to the match and lunch outside the grounds are included.

DAY 14: CONTRASTS OF KANDY

An early-ish start is warranted today as you will most likely want to avoid the heat of the sun while exploring the Botanical Gardens of Pradeniya. Later, you will take a short yet scenic drive to Suriyakantha, an interesting heritage home and cultural centre that you can tour through and admire traditional paintings, antiques, photographs and treasures from the Sigiriya excavation site. Enjoy a delicious Sri Lankan Lunch before driving back to Kandy in your tuk tuk, stopping along the way at various sites and shops if you wish.

DAY 15 & 16: ENGLAND VS SRI LANKA – KANDY TEST MATCH

Your last two days will be spent supporting England as they take on Sri Lanka at the Kandy Test Match. Again, your tickets and lunch outside the grounds are included.

DAY 17: FLY HOME

Your driver will take you to Colombo Airport for your flight back to the UK.
