Java & The Lesser Sunda Islands
Explore the heartland of Java then head east for eight days sailing from Bali through the Lesser Sunda Islands to Flores.
With over 254 plant species, 58 animal and 128 bird - Komodo is a centre of biodiversity and a haven for wildlife enthusiasts. Consisting of five separate islands: Komodo, Rinca, Padar, Gili Motang and Nusa Kode (as well as some smaller islands dotted inbetween), the park offers insight into a unique habitat. Whilst much of the rest of Indonesia is tropical rainforest, Komodo is dry with very little water and is very hot - with savannah like conditions. The variety of reptiles is particularly of note - on Komodo they have ideal conditions for their survival.
