The Four Seasons Jimbaran Bali is one of the island's most luxurious hotels, located on a wide expanse of a hillside overlooking Jimbaran Bay and Mount Agung beyond. Jimbaran is one of Bali's best beaches and one from which you can easily reach the island's cultural highlights, too. In essence, this is the perfect location from which to enjoy the magical island of Bali.

Each of the 147 villas consists of a pool, an outdoor pavilion and a lush garden, enclosed within a private stone courtyard. The villa itself is opulent and tastefully designed with a free-standing roll-top bath and traditional Indonesian furnishings. We particularly recommend the Ocean View One Bedroom Villas as they are higher up the hillside than other villas, thus benefitting from panoramic views of the bay from both the living area and the pool.

The resort itself has a fantastic spa offering many treatments and it has two resort pools overlooking the bay (one with a waterfall). You can also enjoy the fitness centre and two tennis courts, while there is a range of excellent restaurants to choose from as well.

At the bottom of the resort is Jimbaran Bay itself and the Four Seasons has a private beach club adjacent to the beach called Coconut Grove. If you don’t fancy the walk down (or back up) the hill, staff will transport you in golf buggies. At Coconut Grove you can sunbathe in Moroccan themed gazebos with waiter service or enjoy water sports on the beach (including surfing at certain times of the year). It's a great place to take in the atmosphere of the bay at dusk; lanterns sway in the breeze as you watch the glorious sunset and locals and tourists playing football or flocking to Jimbaran’s famous beach barbeques. We highly recommend wandering down the beach where you can dine at one of the superb local seafood BBQ restaurants yourself, which are inexpensive and great quality.

This is a beautiful, romantic resort with a traditional Indonesian feel, but as is standard with Four Seasons properties, it's also a great option for families. There is a terrific kids club and the facilities provided in the room for children are excellent. We were particularly impressed with the range of facilities they provide for babies (sterilizer, baby bath, bucket and spade etc). It's also worth noting that due to the nature of the tides, Jimbaran is one of the safest beaches in Bali for swimming.  All in all a fabulous place to stay.

Ultimate - There are very few hotels we would describe as 'ultimate'. Hotels in this category must have absolutely everything anyone could want and really be aiming for the stars. These hotels generally go well above and beyond and they would always be at the very top end of the market. These are for clients looking for that extra special place.

Indonesia Guide

Indonesia is an archipelago of over 17,000 islands, and a treasure trove of diversity. Yet many travellers only ever see Bali. Inspired by the Balinese philosophy 'Sekala, Niskala' (The Seen & The Unseen), our guide delves into both the highlights and hidden gems. Experience spiritual rituals in tucked-away temples, unique funeral rites in Sulawesi, and adventures in the 'Ring of Fire'. This guide lays out an unforgettable journey, revealing the magic beyond the usual tourist spots.

We simplify accommodation choices, from beach retreats to boutique hotels, and share must-try dishes and cultural quirks like why Indonesians wear winter coats in summer. When you're ready, chat to our Indonesia experts to tailor your perfect immersive experience through this colossal country.
