The Contrasts of Malaysia
An in-depth trip through mainland Malaysia and Borneo's wildlife, national parks, beaches and culturally vibrant destinations.
The Majestic perches proudly on the river in beautiful Malacca and welcomes its guests with a series of thoughtful touches: a fruit basket here, jars of Malay sweets and snacks lining the lobby, lovely décor and a welcoming feel. The accompanying Spa Village is well-known for its relaxing treatments influenced by Chinese and Malay therapies.
Malacca itself is on the south-western coast, 150km south of Kuala Lumpur. Influenced by China, Sumatra, India, Portugal, Britain, and the Netherlands, Malacca is a rich and colourful melting pot of history and architecture. The hotel itself lies a short distance outside of Malacca’s city centre, making it a peaceful haven and a great base from which to explore the region.
Choose from a deluxe room, a Majestic Suite, or the Tranquera Suite. The deluxe rooms are 35 square metres, light, airy, and open-plan, with the bathroom separated from the main bedroom by a wooden sliding door. The suites offer double the room size with a separate powder room and a top floor view of Kampung Morten and the river.
If you want to be close to the action on Jonker Street, you might find the Majestic’s location just a bit too far out of reach, but if you would prefer a tranquil riverside haven just outside Malacca’s centre, you will enjoy the grand colonial charm and the thoughtful touches that make this hotel stay special.
Deluxe - This is our first really 'upmarket' category. It might be a beautiful tiny hotel with very limited facilities or a 5* resort hotel with all the trimmings; but any hotel in this category will be a well-run establishment with very comfortable rooms, a strong service ethos and excellent food.
