Cameron Highlands Resort ,
Malaysia, Western Malaysia
Info : Cameron Highlands Resort
In the Cameron Highlands you will find pieces of Colonial Britain in lush verdant Malaysia. Cameron Highlands Resort is no exception with its grand French doors, Tudor style architecture, and stylish furnishings. A sojourn here is romantic, nostalgic, and utterly pleasant.
A couple of hours north of Kuala Lumpur, the state of Pahang is full of tea plantations, strawberry farms, and lush green forests. The cool climate and lovely green hills lend themselves to the unique Colonial character that defines the region. At the hotel, there are plenty of British touches: a tea tradition, the drawing room, the fireplace in the library. Spa Village is inspired by the healing properties of tea, and the treatments are luxurious indeed. The resort is well known for its lavish high tea.
There are plenty of large one and two bedroom suites here, but the deluxe room itself has plenty of space with its seating area, French doors and a charming balcony, and four poster king size bed. Rooms are light and airy with polished wooden floors and timber-beamed ceilings.
This is a fantastic choice as a base for exploring the beautiful Cameron Highlands. Its superior location near a main road does lend itself to a bit of minor street noise, so if you want utter tranquillity, you may not agree. But Cameron Highlands Resort is charming and very beautiful, particularly suited to romantic getaways.
Superior - This is what we would describe as our standard category. These will be decent 3/4* hotels providing a really good level of service. We would generally expect them to be providing a little something extra, in terms of character, guest experience or facilities too.

Our guides in Yangon, Bagan, and Kalaw / Lake Inle were wonderful. They struck the right balance of explaining the history and importance of the sights we were seeing without over-doing it, they knew where to get the best view/experience at what time and could rearrange experiences so we got the most out of them. A standout was our guide in Kalaw / trek / Lake Inle. He was as keen to learn from us as he was to teach us, he bent over backwards to make sure we were happy and comfortable, and he was just plain fun too!
