Located in Chiang Mai Province in Northern Thailand, the Elephant Nature Park was established in the 1990s and continues to go from strength to strength. Set in a natural valley with forested mountains in the distance, the park provides one of the most elephant-friendly experiences in the country.
The overall aim of the centre is to provide a sanctuary and rescue centre for elephants, whilst also providing the opportunity for tourists and volunteers to observe and experience these unique and noble creatures.
There are various options available to anyone wishing to visit the park, ranging from full day trips involving feeding and bathing the elephants, to overnight stays where you will learn about the animals in further detail.
Please note that it is not possible to ride any of the elephants at the Elephant Nature Park. All elephants here have been rescued and in order to protect the herd the centre can only take small numbers of visitors at a time. Pre-booking is essential here and it can book up quickly so be sure to speak to your travel advisor so you do not miss out!
