Thailand, West Coast and Islands
Info : June Bahtra
June Bahtra is a traditional Siamese junk boat which sails daily around scenic Phang Nga Bay. Famed for its limestone karst’s, Phang Nga Bay is the Thailand of picture postcards. The wooden schooner spends the day sailing around the bay with stops at James Bond Island (the most famous karst) and a sea gypsy village. Excursions are also made aboard a smaller long tail boat to more difficult to reach parts of the bay like mangrove forests and intricate caves.
After a morning of exploration a Thai buffet lunch is served on-board the boat. The afternoon is less structured with the opportunity to swim, sunbath and relax at your leisure.
This is a great way to explore the highlights of the bay in a small group with a knowledgeable guide. Return transfers to the boat are included from Phuket.
I started doing a search on the net for specialists and came across Experience Travel Group. I liked a lot what I saw on their website so started an online dialogue with one of their operators. She quickly realised what we are looking for and got one of her colleges who was a specialist in this area. A chap called David Gookey called me back to chat about what we wanted. We gave David a brief for our budget and the type of things that we wanted to do and he did the rest. All I can say is he put together the perfect holiday, sorted out the best tours and some incredible hotels. All guides, flights, transport and transfers taken care of. If you're reading this David thank you once again.
