Day 1  depart the UK

Depart London on an overnight flight to Java.

Day 2 Yogyakarta (Amanjiwo)

On arrival in Java, your chauffeur guide will meet you and drive you in your private car to Amanjiwo. Set against an extraordinary backdrop of ancient temples and smoking volcanos, Amanjiwo is one of our favourite hotels in the world.

Day 3 Yogyarta (Amanjiwo)

Borobodur is a magnificent Buddhist temple complex located just a short drive from Amanjiwo. This morning, you’ll have a chance to explore the archaeological wonder at sunrise with your guide. Later today, you might also choose to visit Mendut or Pawon, two ancient Hindu temples a few kilometres away.

Day 4 Yogyakarta (Amanjiwo)

Today is free to relax at Amanjiwo, but we think you’ll be tempted to explore the surrounding area in more depth. You could take a guided tour of nearby Yogyakarta: a royal capital with a Kraton (palace) that functions as a city within a city, much like The Vatican. If you enjoy trekking, you could opt to explore the Menorah Hills and if you’re very fit you could even take a hike up Mount Merapi, an active volcano that forms part of the dramatic scenery for which Java is famous.

Day 5 Ubud  (Amandari)

Today you leave Java and take a short flight over to Bali. On arrival, you’ll meet your private guide and driver. Once you've whizzed past the queues with a VIP immigration arrangement, you’ll be driven to beautiful Amandari, overlooking the picturesque Ayung River Gorge in Bali’s cultural heart of Ubud. Check-in for a 3-night stay.

Day 6 Ubud (Amandari)

It's a free day today; we suggest heading into Ubud and exploring on foot. Take time to meander through its myriad of markets and galleries and enjoy lunch at one of the many restaurants.

Day 7 Ubud (Amandari)

Today you have a choice of activities: if you feel like being active, you can take a guided trek through the Ayung River Gorge and surrounding rice terraces or a cycling trip down to Ubud. If you'd prefer to relax you can enjoy an exquisite massage at the resort's spa.

Day 8 Bali to Moyo Island (Amanwana)

A chauffeured transfer will take you to the airport where you’ll fly to Sumbawa for the boat transfer to Moyo Island. On arrival at Moyo, you’ll check into your luxury tented accommodation at Amanwana, a paradise wilderness retreat.

Day 9 Moyo Island (Amanwana)

Today you can choose from either a guided trek to a beautiful limestone waterfall in the jungle or a boat trip to scuba dive the pristine coral (scuba diving tuition is available for beginners).

Day 10 Moyo Island (Amanwana)

Today is free to take time and enjoy your beautiful surroundings and the panoramic views of the Flores Sea. Moyo is a haven for nature lovers, and there is a range of guided treks around the island. You can follow paths where you might discover deer and monkeys while looking out for sea eagles in the sky and reef sharks in the water. You can also grab a snorkel or a kayak and explore the waters of the bay around the camp. Here you’ll see a variety of fish and coral life, and turtles are regularly spotted nearby too. Beach boys will happily provide guided snorkelling tours around the reef to help you find the best spots. If you want to relax completely, then the Amanwana spa is the place to go today.

Day 11 Home or Stay

If you’re not ready to go home just yet then why not board Amanikan for an expedition from Amanwana into the beautiful Raja Ampat Archipelago? Alternatively, you could spend a few days at Amanusa or Amankila in Bali, or increase the time you spend at any of the places visited on the trip. Contact us for pricing these extensions.

Otherwise, your luxury adventure ends today with a flight back to Bali where you board your flight to return to the UK.
