Experience Cambodia and Thailand in style: your private guide will reveal incredible sights and transport you away from the crowds to retreat and relax in some of the region's most outstanding and original hotels.

You'll begin with the essentials, visiting the magical Temples of Angkor. Our tours are carefully paced to steer away from the busiest times of day and show you the temples at their best.

After discovering the Cambodian capital Phnom Penh you’ll explore the unspoilt countryside in a little more depth, before crossing the border into Thailand to the lush island of Koh Kood. There you’ll enjoy a dreamy barefoot-luxury beach stay at the gorgeous Soneva Kiri before winding up the holiday with a cultural city safari in Bangkok.

Highlights include:

  • Retreating to Phum Baitang (Siem Reap) after a day exploring temple ruins. It’s a beautiful, tranquil hideaway in the paddy fields surrounding the Angkor complex.
  • Staying at a floating lodge and immersing yourself in the stunning rural scenery of Cambodia’s Cardamom Mountains
  • Stay at the illustrious Raffles Phnom Penh; the bustling capital city’s grandest hotel is infused with history
  • A beach stay in paradise at beautiful Soneva Kiri on tropical Koh Kood island
  • Getting a taste of typical local life in Bangkok as you travel through the waterways, visit the morning flower markets and drink fresh coconut juice

As with all of our suggested itineraries, we can tailor-make your holiday to suit your budget, style and expectations. Find out about our exclusive ‘Journey Planner’ here.

DAY 1 DEPART THE UK

Depart the UK on your overnight flight to Cambodia.

DAYS 2-5 SIEM REAP       Temples and rice fields

Your guide will meet you at the airport for the transfer to your beautiful hotel, Phum Baitang. The evening is free for you to relax and enjoy the surroundings.

During your stay in Siem Reap there will be plenty of time to explore the breathtaking Temples of Angkor. You'll visit the most famous temple Angkor Wat as well as Angkor Thom, Bayon and also Ta Prohm, which is atmospherically overgrown with the roots and limbs of Banyan Trees. You can also explore some of the more remote temples and visit the floating villages on the Tonle Sap. We always tailor the time in Angkor around your style, and we continuously change routes to try and avoid places where the coach tours gather.

DAYS 6 AND 7  PHNOM PENH   history in the capital

Today you can choose between either a one-hour domestic flight or an overland road journey to take you to the capital Phnom Penh.  Door to door, the road journey takes slightly longer but offers you the chance to experience the rural countryside en route.  On arrival in Phnom Penh, you'll check in at the world-famous Raffles Le Royal, Phnom Penh’s most historic hotel. During your stay in the capital a full-day tour of the city is included, which covers the highlights of the Royal Palace, National Museum and the Silver Pagoda.

We include trips to the harrowing Killing Fields and Tuol Sleng S-21 prison, but there are also alternative options if you would prefer, such as a cycling tour of a nearby island.

DAY 8 – 10 CARDAMOM MOUNTAINS    Countryside Adventures

*If time and budget permits. It is possible to add in a 3 night stay at the very special Shinta Mani Wild between Phnom Penh and The Cardomom Mountains. Please speak to our travel team for details. *

Your guide and driver will collect you from your hotel in Phnom Penh for the road journey into the Cardamom Mountains. You will then board a small boat and head to Canvas and Orchids (formerly 4 Rivers Floating Resort), your base for the next three nights.

Spend your time at leisure at Canvas and Orchids. Relax by (or in!) the river or take time to explore the beautiful wildlife and scenery of the surrounding rainforest. The hotel provides a wide range of daily activities and experiences, including boat trips to nearby waterfalls, a trek through the forest, a visit to local villages, a tour of a mangrove forest and various nature trails.

Day 11-14 Koh Kood     Relaxing in paradise

Today you will be transferred to the Thai/Cambodia border where you’ll meet your Thai driver and guide for the transfer on to Koh Kood. Your destination is the exclusive Soneva Kiri resort, an exceptional barefoot-luxury retreat in an incredible location. Here you have a four-night stay in a veritable paradise. Dine in a treehouse, wallow at the spa, camp out in the chocolate room or relax by the beach!

Day 15 - 17 Bangkok     Colours, flavours and culture

Transfer by boat to mainland Trat for your short domestic flight to Bangkok (or if you prefer, Soneva Kiri offers a private plane directly from the resort to Bangkok for a supplement). On arrival in Bangkok, you’ll be transferred by your private guide to the famous Peninsula Hotel overlooking the Chao Phraya River.

On our privately guided signature Bangkok tour, you’ll snake through the city by canal boat, Skytrain and tuk-tuk to discover its colours, flavours and culture. En route, you’ll explore the flower markets, life on the klongs (canals) and some of the best street food in town.

On the second day in Bangkok, there will be a chance to explore rural village life by paddleboat - the outskirts of the city are quite a contrast to the bustling centre.

Day 18 Fly Home

Depart Bangkok on your flight back to the UK.

As every holiday is unique to you, prices vary. To give you an indication, our holidays typically cost between £4,000 and £6,000 per adult depending on trip length and time of year as well as the hotels and flights involved. We offer child and seasonal discounts. You can read our ultimate guide to holiday costs in Asia for more in-depth information.
